“The Venue on 35th was inspirational, welcoming and a throwback - to what it must have been like in Harlem on 125th Street in the 30’s.” It’s “a place where language artists can do their thing.” And, “Part of the appeal of The Venue – you can go root for expression and get your art on - in a setting as intimate as your living room with family and community cheering you to the next level.”

Monday’s R Open Mic Nites
Each Monday night folks at the The Venue set the stage, turn on the sound system and stage lights, then they open the doors to the area’s performing artists ~ inviting them to take the stage and share their artistic expressions with others. We also invite the public to come watch and listen and to applaud the performers. The setting is intimate and supportive and intended for people serious about art - “It isn’t about food and drink; it’s about what’s happenin’ on the stage” – It’s about new artists having a safe place to perform for the first time – It’s about veteran artists having a place to experiment and try out new pieces – It’s about having a place that inspires new work – It’s about a lot of things – Come check it out any Monday night – you’ll see. The lovely and talented singer/song writer Gayla Robinson, emcees the event. Singers, musicians, spoken word artists, poets, actors, comedians ~ all are welcome.
Dates: Every Monday Night
Times: The Doors open at 7:45 PM – The Stage stays lit until 10:30 PM
Donation Required at the Door: $2.00 minimum
be generous – help keep the stage lights on!
